We’re Focused on What Matters Most Right Now in San Joaquin County, California

At Junior League of San Joaquin we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.

Our current community goal of supporting education and vocational training of disadvantaged youths and their families is achieved through funding, collaborative efforts with Teachers and School Districts in member created and managed projects.   So far we have funded many different programs such as Micro-Business Support -provides funding and coaching of students to develop micro- businesses. Expanding Our Horizons– provides funding scholarships for sixth- through eighth- grade girls from economically disadvantaged areas to attend a one-day Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program at University of the Pacific in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore Lab.Vocational Life Skills Challenge provides nearly 400 special needs young adults (18-22 years old) with an opportunity to demonstrate their competence at life and vocational skills at a one-day all district event. Mini Grants-offers grants to agencies that provide services to help build stronger educational, vocational and life skills training for San Joaquin County. School Incentive Boutique funds and operates an incentive program that allows teachers to customize a reward system for each student that has proven to positively impact behavior and attendance.

Our goal is to help San Joaquin County, California women develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus of 8 of working with our educational leaders gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.

Our League of leaders creates real change by advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit the communities of San Joaquin County, California.  By giving women the tools to lead, educating them about their communities’ needs, and helping them put their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, Junior League of San Joaquin is making a big impact on San Joaquin County, California

We’re Transforming San Joaquin County, California Communities By Challenging the Status Quo

No matter what we’re currently focusing on, Junior League of San Joaquin County’s work centers around improving our local communities through effective action and leadership. We have identified Education and vocational training as the most pressing issue in our community right now, and we are helping local women take action to resolve it.
